Yeah it's bad. Older stuff is pretty cheap, but anything new or high end will cost 25-50% more than US prices.
But as I said earlier, if you don't plan on taking it home with you it really makes no difference because you can sell it used for more here as well. |

i7 Quad is nice, 6gb RAM is nice, 9500GT? That's a bit too low than I want to settle for. The GPU in my list is the most expensive component, coming in at around 500-550,000.
Gaming Laptops on the other hand I've seriously thought about and I really wouldn't mind getting one. But to be honest, I don't know too much about them. In terms of how hot they get, how long their parts last etc... |
Sorry forgot to come back to this post. Here's some sites to buy custom built laptops. You pick the parts and the O/S and they're UPS it to you. I'm either gonna pick up the 14" sager or 14" Asus on my next trip home. Base model is about as strong as a MSI gx660, and you customize it higher and still wind up lower than $1200 USD
As long as you got the system you can always buy a cheap monitor and hook it up.Anyway, these are the cheapest and strongest custom laptop makers, I've found and they've also got high reliability reviews.

buy a ps3 or xbox. when i realized i was throwing away money on components that would be outdated by the time i bought them and switched to a console where games will still look as good for years to come. i was much happier.
or if you want to make a day of it. haggle the jerks/vendors in yongsan. |

This is where I went with gaming. Then I quit gaming all together cause I don't have any time. |

Whoa, this post is kind of going off topic.
Winterfall, thanks for the websites. They are American though, I have no idea how much they would charge for shipping to Korea.
The Laptops do look pretty damn good though. |

It's definitely easier, but you suffer on quality. Even on games that look "great" on the PS3 or 360, they always look better on the PC. A good example is Dragon Age. On my not-even-remotely modern PC (8800GT, Dual-Core Athlon 64) it ran great and looked great. On both consoles it looked awful. Consoles are pretty much trading performance for convenience.
