Waseige1, why are you asking why he is asking?

Chuseok is a three-day holiday. Monday and Friday are possible extras that depend on the decision of your principal/ local authorities.

Sorry if you are only getting Tue-Thu. In Sokcho we are getting Friday too. However, many others in Gangwondo are getting Monday as well so a nine-day break.

It's annoying when others get better perks than you but that's life. We have to count ourselves lucky that Chuseok is not on the weekend this year as then we'd only get one extra day off.

Some get 9 days, some get 6 days, and some get only 3 days. It's not a fair world, but I'm thankful to be falling in the middle. Many people will have to work the holiday or only get a day or two off. A Lotte Mart employee told me today they are open through the holiday and he's working next Wednesday. It's nice having a salaried job where you get a few more days off and even get off early sometimes.

Wow, I guess you are taking some vacation time to coincide with the holiday. With 16 days, you are free to just be free to be yourself without an alarm clock and busy schedule. Now that's as pretty much as good as winning big on a game show.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say English is definitely not this guy's first language...so who are you working for and why do you want to know?

Here's a little bit of info: My school principal moved two other school holidays to the same week as Chuseok so that we'd all get the week off. So, yes, we get a week off but it's still the same number of free days as other schools. One of the two school holidays moved was School Founder's Day, which is actually today. I don't remember what the other day's usual date is.

I can't count how many times I've seen this ESL response in threads to people forgetting capital letters and lacking enough attention to detail to dot their i's and use well....proper grammar whatever that might be. Should we adhere to MLA style or just type without revisions and citing sources of our ideas and info? I believe Darren from the UK speaks English as his first language, but but is just very relaxed outside of his real work. People back in our home countries don't care if if our English is incorrect with many not ever knowing or using correct English. Thank god I got a computer to do the hard part. Check my spelling and dot the i's and cross t's for me. now lets go enjoy tree free paid weed days off. Enjoy them well, because they are the last ones until February 2nd and 3rd, 2011.

Thanks for the back up. Yep I'm from the uk.
So what's with the grammer police on Dave's. I didn't ask to be graded, just ask a simple question!! Oh well such is Korea, nothing shocks me here at all anymore. Thanks for the answers so far, and what's my grade now. Heheheheh

Have to work Monday, but it's a skate day. Most of the kid's will probably be out of town, anyway. Have the rest of the week off. I'll probably have to show up and smile for 3 hours or so on Monday, then they'll send me home.
