| That's the idea Feah. You can put the games onto the HDD and play straight off of it. |

Mines a measly 40gb, pretty old.
I don't think a USB HDD will work due to the whole FAT32 NTFS business... |

I hacked mine with my HTC desire android phone the other day. I promptly went to techno mart and bought a cheap 500 GB external hard drive. Less then 90 bucks. I got the guy at techno-mart to format it for me into fat32. It took him about three minutes.
I'm using it just fine I have backed up games and even downloaded a few. Its a Samsung hard drive in a cheap enclosure. The brand is "Soda".
I would avoid buying the Seagate free agent go hard drives. I had two and my 500 gb one crapped out on me after six months. To be honest the seagate was more cheaply made then the cheaper korean model. The more expensive free agent go seagates are literally glued together.
There is a decent snes emulator out which works well but its early in the hacking game for the ps3. It will only get better. I also heard that you should stick to 500gb or less not sure if that is true or not some people on a forum said the larger ones tend to be problematic. |

Wait wait wait...
I'm confused, how did you manage to download a PS3 game onto a FAT32 HDD??
I thought FAT32 couldn't read anything bigger than 4gb? or am I going crazy? |

| No prob it gets a little confusing. Yes its true that fat 32 can't read a file over 4gb. PS3 games however are usually split up into smaller files. So yes the total is well over 4gb but as long as the game doesn't have a part that is over 4gb within the game then there is no problem. Those games that have larger than 4gb parts will work until they encounter a file larger than 4gb. This however is quickly changing. There is a coder that has created a way to remove unneeded data and make larger files meet the 4gb limit. You can just apply a little program to compress and reduce the individual file size. So to make a long story longer even games with larger file sections can now be reduced in size to meet the limitations of FAT32. The hacking world is an amazing place. If you need any help figuring this stuff out let me know. That offer is extended to anyone that is interested. |

Veryyyyyyyyy interested.
At the same time, a little worrying.
I remember with the PSP games, some of them were stripped down so they could fit on a 1gb or 2gb stick. Problem was different people ripped different things, so you could get one copy of the game with the CGI removed, which was gay.
I guess if this coder really does take off, people will start uploading the actual coded version so we don't need to do anything.
But man...I'm really bummed out I left my PS3 at home in England, I might get my sister to send it to me
Thanks newjcubed~ |

| Do you guys recommend I buy a PS3 in Seoul or in the States? When you guys play online do you play against Korean/Asian gamers? Is that dependent on where your PSN account is? Let me know what the overall pluses and minuses are. Thanks guys. |

| If you are waiting for an affordable jailbreak device they are now available in Yongsan. They have the Chinese cheapo clones for 30-35 and the Korean homemade one for 40. I would go with the Korean homemade one because its a teensy atmel development board. This means its easy to add new payloads. The shop will put the latest hermes on for you for free if you are not a tech savvy person. I'm sure that once they become more popular the prices will increase but for now its a very competitive price. I'm not going to say where exactly it is but if you ask around I'm sure you can find the shop in question. |
