i think the average teacher in korea has a lot of time to watch movies, so tell us, was it worth watching? should we skip it?

date night- tina fey and steve carrell. steve carrell's brand of comedy, i enjoyed it.

cop out- bruce willis and tracy morgan. bruce willis wasn't funny at all, but tracy morgan is tracy morgan and it had some laugh out loud moments.

the a-team. skip it.

Zombi 2
Predators
Machete

Machete is great.
Predators is OKAY, don't expect too much. However, they did keep the original score from Arnold's masterpiece.

Zombi 2 is just amazing. ZOMBIE VS SHARK Mad

I watched, "The Human Centipede," last night. A ridiculously sick idea. I watched the last 2 episodes of, "The Colony," Sunday night. I hope, "Spartacus - blood and sand," returns and I hope a boat load of good movies come out this Winter.

Oh god, I thought I had burned Frozen out of my mind. I watched the intro, then I ended up fast forwarding to the end. Avoid this movie if you can, it's awful.

Saw Frozen. Meh. Wasn't expecting much.
The A Team? Have it. Watched about less than half of it and stopped it. Haven't gotten around to watching the rest. That's how good it is. Although it should be mentioned that I wasn't a fan of the TV show. Maybe in the very beginning, but that didn't last.

Salt was only OK at best, I guess.
The Killer Inside Me was kind of boring.
The Informant was good.
The Other Man was a bit stupid and pointless.
Repo Men wasn't great.
Hot Tub Time Machine kind of bad.
Sahara was too Disney.
The Proposal was mindless crap, but watchable to a certain degree.
The Final Season was put together badly.
Doubt was pretty good, but not great. Good acting.
Watched Good Morning Vietnam for the first time since it was originally releases and thought it was stupid because Robin Williams was annoying.

So out of all those movies (12) I've watched in the last month, I can only recommend Doubt and The Informant.

Those are all DVDs I've rented lately. Forgot that I have Machete and watched some of it already. I'll get back to it when I'm in the mood.

In the theater since June, I've seen Karate Kid, Knight and Day, The Expendables, and Inception. All were watchable. Knight and Day was the worst with The Expendables coming in a close 2nd worst. Inception was the best of the lot. I thought the Karate Kid wasn't too bad.

IP Man

Some of the action scenes were good. But the back story of the master being Bruce Lee's teacher had to hold up everything else. Pretty cruddy

해격사

Saw this all in Korean. K-pop cinema isn't that deep, so it didn't take long for me to figure out the plot. Action was okay, comedy was meh.

Terminator 4.

Glad to see this on TV and not pay the ticket price for it.
This movie was garbage. Must be why Christian Bale had that rant about his light/close-up/camera action

The Adjuster - the worst David Lynch film Lynch never made.

Play it Again, Sam. Pathos, wit, likeable characters and Dianne Keaton drop dead gorgeous and charming. One of the Woodster's trademark bests. The scenes where he tries to come on to women in his Bogey voice are hillarious. I really think he is my favourite film maker.

Manhatten. Woody's quintessential New York Intellectual Rom Com. The Wide screen photography is delectable and Keaton again is stunning. The quote 'You're God's answer to Job' when he tells his young date how beautiful she is.

Jackie Brown. Some good montage scenes and love the way the Delaphonics track becomes a character in itself. Too much over indulgent 'Tarrantino Dialogue' for me though and was left uncaring about the whole thing by the end.

Dumb and Dumber. I assume that's refering to both the writer and director. Utter brain-dead crud. And I usually like a bit of Carey.

Adaptation. Cage plays his aging neurotic coninvingly and also the goofy, seemingly shallow brother as contrast works to great comedic effect. Streep's charactor's descent into narcisism and a conceitedness that it's hinted was underneath her whimsical lonely longings all along from the start is also a nice touch. I think Charlie Kauffman is the most original and most avant of the gard director of this century. His last movie 'Synecdoc' (sp) is far ahead of any other movie of the 2000's in terms of ambition, scope and conceptual complexity. A current day renaisance man if you ask me.

Inception. Is it a dream of a dream or a dream within his dream about her dream? I don't know and I don't bloody care! Computer game visuals, too much steadicam and Nolan's usual overindulgence in plot devices which to me points towards OCD.

Hrmm, I've been in a sci-fi and action mood lately.

Sunshine - Yet another reason to love Danny Boyle. Ignore the fake science and it's a brilliant psychological thriller.

Moon - Well acted and a great (if weird) story. I'd watch it again.

Pandorum - Meh, I could take it or leave it. I suppose if you really want to watch a sci-fi movie, then it's worth a download. Otherwise, pass.

Predators - It was exactly what I expected. I.e. lots of blood and action, a plot twist, and a not so great ending. I guess I could compare it to Tremors - it's definitely not a good film, but it's entertaining.

Knight and Day - I want those two hours of my life back.

Salt - Would have been alright, except for the terrible ending.

Ong bak 2 and 3 (they follow on from each other) - Watch it if you like martial arts. It's great in that it's based in long-ago history and it spends a lot of time on the actual story (more so than the fights) and is really quite magical to be a part of, but... It doesn't seem to follow itself all the time, to say the least. Starting off somewhere completely different seemingly at random points. The overall picture is epic and great though, for a Thai Movie.
The fighting is of course, pristine and flawless, the best.

Shutter Island - WATCH. Very quickly one of my top 5, maybe top 3 films in my list. (of all films)

A Serious man - WATCH if you like dark comedy about Jews. It develops slowly and can be none-sequitur but it's great all the same. Creepy soundtrack that keeps you hanging.

Hancock - Yeah, watch, it's amusing. Especially before he tries to be nice.

The Ghost Writer - Yeah, Skipping through it looks boring but the build up and tension is great, pierce brosnan is in it, and lots of British accents.

Hachiko - Watch if you want to cry about a sad dog story. Based on a true story in Japan where a statue of the dog is now erected in his honour.

It's not a movie but I recently watched the HBO series Eastbound and Down with Danny Mcbride. I thought it was funny as hell because he plays an awesome washed up burnout.

Can't wait for season 2

Man Bites Dog, the Belgian French B&W film from the 1990s about a serial killer being filmed by journalists making a documentary. It's a fantastic work of art in the form of satire and social criticism, resonating on many levels. Some may find it full of black humour but the scenes are well developed and there's a lot of subtle points of social commentary. Not enough films are as audacious or ambitious. It was well worth my time.
