|
|
In the near future I'm thinking about renting a place on my own bill because I might be able to afford the key money.
Anyway, whats the deal on this? I understand its basically a deposit where the landlord invests it or whatever.
But as a foreigner, whats to stop the guy just pissing away the money and then when it comes time to give it back he says, "Sorry, no money?" |

Forget as a foreigner, as a Korean, too -- it happens.
Just have to take it on faith. |

They usually do piss the money away. You get your money back when the new tenants pay their deposit. |

Or you can get a special insurance, I think we have insurance for that. But usually you just get the money at the end of the contract, if you leave earlier you get it after a new tenant moves in (so you're responsible to find a new tenant). |

Unfortunately, this has been my experience. |
