Hoquiam, WA - A Pizza delivery gone wrong yesterday in Hoquiam, yesterday evening a Pizza Hut employee was delivering a pizza to a home in the 500 block of third street. The child who answered the door said his mother was in the shower and would be out to pay the man soon. The child then closed the door and the delivery man patiently waited about 30 minutes before contacting authorities. Hoquiam Police arrived and discovered that the home was vacant, and that the child AND the pizza appeared to have escaped out the back door. |
This kid's got a future in corporate America.

kid's a genius. Even if he got caught, absolutely nothing would happen to him. |

I worked as a pizza driver in the United States.
We've had tricks pulled on us, but I've never heard that one before.
One time, we got a call to deliver a pizza to an apartment in a housing complex.
I attempted to deliver the pizza, but no one at the apartment answered.
A bunch of people were gathered outside.
They suggested that I sell it to them at a reduced price rather than let it go to waste.
I knew what they were up to, so I said no.
When I got back to the store, the manager congratulated me for doing the right thing.
Another time, I got a phone call from a person pretending to be very angry.
He said that he called earlier and got no response, so he should be delivered his pizza at a discount.
And if that wasn't enough, he was going to report me to the manager over me.
He said that he used to work for the same company, and he got along just fine with the manager over me.
I knew he was bluffing because I had opened the store and had been taking all the phone calls since then. |

Pizza driver should count himself lucky that that wasn't an armed robbery setup.
I have to say after many years of service under my belt it was nice to call people out on their attempted scams. They'd feign some sort of outrage, or be actually outraged. Then they'd be stunned that their outrage was good for nothing and that our manager and owner genuinely didn't care in telling you to buzz off if you were a scammer or a liar.
Of course it was really stressful having to deal with complaints that were genuine, especially ones like "I think your driver is on drugs" or "Your driver is passed out in our parking lot" |
