|
|
Hey guys,
spent some time combing through Arc related things but couldn't find this specifically.....
1. I lost my arc card (I know, I know)
2. I have a multiple entry visa stamp with 4 months left till expiration
3. I need to attend a wedding in a few days back home (usa)
The question is, MUST I present my arc card to immigration if I'm leaving Korea (I AM coming back) The -rents are buying a return ticket when I get in-
AND, if I don't have my card to show, what is the maximum fine they will make me pay at the airport (last I saw here in 2003 was 100$)
Thanks for any info! |

Go get a replacement card ASAP. It won't take long at all and will save you money and trouble. |

Not to be unhelpful, but I'm curious how you don't have your ARC at all times or in your wallet at least. go to the Immi office and file for a new one |

Wallet was in my laptop bag, arc card only is now gone. Voodo, maybe? I don't know. I have about 200 cute snotty brats in and out of my classroom room all day who like to scale the cabinets
I leave in two days and will have to visit immi tomorrow. Thanks for the responses. If I can't get it in time, hopefully the airport won't ask if they see the re-entry stamp.
I hate weddings anyways. Maybe this is my way out. 100$ to get out at the aiport stinks. |

The airport check-in counter will probably ask to see it but if you are going to your home country your passport is sufficient.
On the return you will also be asked to produce it since registered aliens do not need to fill out entry cards. Just explain that you lost it.
If you are lucky, when you go to immigration to report it lost and request the replacement, IF you tell them you are leaving in 2 days (and have a ticket out to prove it) they can (and often do) issue a replacement while-you-wait.
