| I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to be sure of the answer. I just arrived here a few weeks ago and my us 360 is on its way. Can I just go to any electronics store and buy a korean xbox 360 power supply brick and plug it into my us 360? I'll be using a power strip/surge protector. It'd just be nice to have a simple solution instead of buying converters and plug adapters! Thanks! |

| Also, I am considering buying one of the new slim 360s. Are those available in Korea? If so, would it be in my interest to bring one from home (the States), or just buy one in Korea? Either way, I am looking to get it modded at Yongsan. |

to answer avs, yes, you can do what u said. just don't plug the US/CAN 360 brick into the wall...the brick will fry, not the box. trust me, i saw our local guy plug a korean power cable into the back of my US 360 less than a week ago. that's the main reason why i updated this.
bb, yes, the slims r here now...

Yeah, good luck, at least with an online search, for that. I searched all over and came up with jack squat.
Best bet is probably to try the shops at Yongsan(or wherever the game shops are in your city).
On the net, it seems like searches are best found using... xbox360 전원 아댑터
In the set-up manual i have, it's showing as 전원 공급 장치. |

| I went to Home-Plus tonight in Hagye and found neither an xbox 360 power supply nor a step-down converter. I was sure I could find the latter, but after searching the electronics section for a half an hour I gave up. Perhaps I'll go to an E-Mart tomorrow to look for one. |

a better place to shop at is one called a 철물점(cheol-mool-jeom)....they have all kinds of crap bursting out onto the sidewalk...brooms, mops, mosquito netting, wires, and the like usually...at least from my experience down south.
the technical name for the device is 가정용 소형 변압기(gah-jeong-yohng soh-hyeong byeon-ahp-gi). apparently, you might get by by just telling them 트랜스(teu-raen-suh). |

First off, which power brick does your Xbox use? 150W, 170W, 203W?
After a quick look on eBay, I found a 203w Genuine new brick for $35 (includes shipping) http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MICROSOFT-XBOX-360-POWER-SUPPLY-BRICK-AC-ADAPTER-/160466351404?pt=Video_Games_Accessories&hash=item255c8a352c
eBay is a LOT cheaper than buying in Korea, even with shipping and possible import tax. (for example, I bought a camera lens last month, cost 870,000W in Korea, but I bought on eBay for $640, included shipping and 7% customs tax) |

Any of those power bricks could be used by his console. What he needs is the correct input value...my US one says 100-127V(output 150W), and the Korean one is 200-240V(output 203W). I think the older 360s have 100-127V(output 170W).
Having said that, it looks like you were able to find a place that's selling what he's looking for. $33.99 is pretty good. He'll likely need a plug adapter, but that'll only cost him an extra dollar or so.
Here's another one, although I think $60 is a bit pricey...

This guy is selling what appears to be five sets of them(203W output), along with the av cables, for only $50...the plug looks like a typical three-prong grounded one from back home though...

other thing to think about is the jasper connector will not fit into a falcon console, but the falcon will fit into the jasper. not sure about the xenon/zephyr ones. |
