3. SALARIES AND BENEFITS:

(1) monthly salary 2,000,000 Won plus + any overtime payment (15,000 won per hour over 10 hours) + unspecified % raise each time you re-contract (the % is determined by a totality of circumstances at the time)

(2) Subsidized medical insurance and Private School Pension Premium (unlike National Pension Program, this is not optional; you are all required to enroll and you will be paid the fully-accrued amount at the end of the contract in a lump sum);

(3) Huge, modernized on-campus offices. Two professors share the office; the utility for the office is free except for certain high-power appliances which can only be plugged into the specified plug near the window and you pay the expenses out of your pocket for this use.

Let me get this straight. You are calling a job where you only have to teach TEN hours per week bad?

That is about 50,000 per hour of class. That beats most any job I know. In my Uni job I make 20,000 per hour. And I don't think my job is bad.

Are you working less hours than that for more $$$?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing - in fact, the first two posts were just incredibly goofy.

It wouldn't be too too terrible if there weren't 10 hours of office hours a week, that's a lot.

Ten office hours can be used to prepare lessons. It is highly unlikely you will be flooded with students. Maybe only at certain times such as before exams. Usually students are too busy drinking to come. This is true all over the world.

For ten hours teaching you might have 3 or 4 classes at a time max. I just can't see those students taking up your time.

20 hours a week in the office = "part time" hours in anyone's language!
