Has anyone ever worked with ATC Recruiting? What were your experiences? I recently signed up with them, and so far so good. But I thought the same of my last recruiter and ended up at a terrible hagwon, with absolutely no support from them whatsoever.

I'm working with them right now. Christina is great. She's very helpful with any questions I have and keeps in contact. She really listened to what I wanted and worked hard to find me a good fit, which was different from my experience with some other recruiters who just tried to push hagwons or very rural positions on me.

Don't trust a review of a recruiter until after the reviewer has been working in Korea for some time.

This is definitely good advice. I was just offering my own experiences so far to the OP because I also had trouble finding reviews (good or bad) of ATC when I was looking for them. The only information I found is that they're an official GEPIK recruiter for 2010 and they organize events for their teachers in Korea.

ATC did put me in touch with a few teachers they worked with so I could ask them questions. I got a good overall impression of ATC so went with them. You can ask to do this as well. But you can also find other teachers who have worked with them on your own. ATC has a facebook page so you can try sending any of the members a message and asking them about their experiences (many are in Korea now). They also have a twitter account so you can try that way, too. Good luck!

I worked with them a few years ago and got a public school job. They were good.

I worked with them for a while and they seemed legit and helpful. I didn't take any of their offers because I found work through some family connections. But they sent me a lot of offers. That is a plus.

There are good and bad things about all recruiters. I have yet to find a recruiter who will process your application without any hitch.

I've used them on a few occaissions, but during the public school rush in Feb & August you have to be proactive and keep on them as they are superbusy and don't have the manpower to keep track of everyone.

They will also stagger their vacations during these busy periods and you'll get shuffled around to a different staff member who knows nothing about your application.

I was early and on the ball and they found me a good public school which I have in mind to re-sign for another year 2-months in yet I'll probably try someone else next time for my next public school job.

Recruiters will lie to you to make their commission. Directly contact schools to get the straight goods.
