I'm having a care package sent to me from the US and was wondering what is the best option. The USPS appears to have the best rates. Is there any other shipping methods that are cheaper than USPS? Fedex and UPS were incredibly expensive.

USPS is the best for rates (air parcel).
Have it sent to your school.

Scan a copy of the school's address or business card (in Korean) and e-mail that to your folks.
They can attach that to the parcel along with the address label in English.

It should arrive in about 10-30 days (depending on the delay in getting through customs).

.

Yeah having it sent to my school was the plan. If I'm looking at it right its about $40+ for a ten pound box.

My boxes usually run me 60 bucks from home. I get 2-3 every two months. USPS is the best bet, they're fast and get through customs. I usually get a package in 7 days.

Have had the best luck with USPS so far.

UPS presented a customs nightmare, but I don't think it was their fault really.

In any case, yeah, USPS is WAY cheaper.

no question... USPS.

I usually have things sent Priority Mail. Costs $40-$50 bucks and is usually here in a week.

The US Snail quit doing surface mail a couple of years ago. But you can ship surface from Korea for about $1/pound (give or take). I've done it when I've left Korea before. Takes about a month to six weeks to get. You can get some pretty big boxes for a couple thousand won each at the PO, they seem to hold about 25-30 lbs of clothes on average. Mail service is one of the things Koreans do well.............
