|
|
Hi, I am overdue for an eye appointment and I leave in a few days. I don't think I can get an eye appointment in the states in time. Has anyone had an eye appointment in Seoul? I'm probably going to need new glasses and a new perscription. Also, I'm probably going to want a new type of contact. Ever since I got conjunctivitis I've really struggled with contacts. I used to have no problems with them but since then I've been through several brands, trying to find one that doesn't irritate my eyes. The kind I have now are OK but are only good for a few hours. So I'd be interested in trying out a new brand. Would this process be very difficult in Korea? |

No appointment needed. At least that was my experience. Me and my girlfriend walked into one place both got tested and got new contacts within 15 minutes. There are places it seems on every street. The hard part may be to find a place with a good english speaker that can understand your needs. |

Yeah it's pretty easy here. You walk into an eyewear shop, put your head in a machine, look at a light, and the guy picks your contacts off the shelf behind him. 10 minutes tops.
I guess if you have a rare condition or really messed up eyes it could be more complicated than that. |

just some advice: switch to one-a-day contacts. I had eye problems and that really helped |

I give credit to Korea for having a practical system in place for seeing optometrists, dentists, and doctors.
No appointment needed!!! Just look into a high tech machine, pick 1 of about 101 choices, and purchase. The practical cost will also make sense to you as well. There is no waiting a month for a $100 eye exam appointment here. You can get a few pairs of soft contacts and a pair of decent glasses for about $100 on walk in basis. |

As everyone else has said, very easy to do. I'd bring a Korean with you though as the guy giving my exam could barely speak a lick of english. |
