-3 million won per month

-Apartment with 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom, 1 living room/kitchen combo, and at least one friggin' window

-Medical insurance, period.

-25 classroom hours per week, 5 more hours office work

-12 days vacation, 5 days sick leave that can be taken whenever I choose (documentation can be required for sick leave)

That's what I want if you care about the quality of my teaching. For that, I'll do my damned best to teach ungrateful 5 year olds.
Drop the salary to 2 per month, put me in a box with no windows, and you'll get a teacher that isn't gonna give a crap if the kids don't want to learn. I'll teach the kids that do and the others can stand in the corner crying after I punish them all class long.

Actually, this question is a set up.

People fresh out of school with no experience whatsoever in the classroom are not worth as much as an experienced classroom veteran. The Korean system pretends that they are.

One time in 3, or even less, they luck out and find someone who can teach. Another fraction find someone who tries, and by the end of the contract has made strides in the direction of competence.

And another third couldn't find their belly button with a map.
