mosquitoes just don't like me for some reason, I have been bit maybe 5 times max this past year.

Maybe my blood is toxic?

I just don't understand what's so appealing about my ear. If I lie on my bed without headphones for 5 minutes, I can guarantee one will buzz the crap out of me.
It's like they see the ear from a distance and think 'I'm 'avin that' and dive right in.

You can save yourself so much grief by buying one of those little plug-in repellent units for 10,000 won at emart. They work 100% effectively. The only time I've had the buzz in my ear is when I fell asleep before I remembered to switch it on.

How do mosquitoes enter your place?

Some people say through the drainage, some say through the air-conditioner. Yes, that is possible, but I highly doubt it is the main way they get inside.

Many Korean apartments and houses have windows or screens that have not actually been fitted properly. I remember I had a screen that "appeared" to block out bugs when looking at it from straight on, but if you got up close to the screen, and looked sideways, you would notice about a 1-inch gap between the screen and the window, leaving PLENTY of room for stupid bugs to get inside. I remember finding a huge HORNET in my room, and wondering how it got in. That's when I discovered the 1-inch gap. No wonder I kept getting bitten... stupid cheap-ass building design is your worst enemy (well, after the mosquitoes...)

Gaaaaargh!! Damn neighbor staying up till 6am with his incessant smoking! Goes outside every 5 minutes slamming the door on the way in and out and coughing his lungs out and spitting while being out there aaaargh!! Then finally he goes to bed and the mosquito army plans a relentless attack on my face. It�s like 8 degrees out there...yes I have a plug in thing. Yes I block my drains. No I don�t have any gaps between the screen and the window. WTF!? Worst sleep ever! /rant.

They make little net 'tents' that go over the bed. They're very easy to open up (and fairly simple to close) as they're made of flexible wires that fold up into a circular bundle.

They're not expensive, and they last ages. I've had mine for 4 years now, and I use it unless it's so cold there aren't any mosquitoes....still going strong....

I got it at Kim's club, but you can probably get them at Emart and the like.

By the way, I temporarily tried out one of those plug-in repellent units, and I got a sore throat every time. It couldn't be healthy.

i think by this time they're coming from inside my building...as in through my front door.

i even have a bite on my LIP. at least it just feels numb and not itchy.
