in the past, all Treyarch games released in Korea have forced Korean text. They still have English vocals, but ALL onscreen text has been in Korean for COD3, COD:WAW and 007. Infinity Ward, on the other hand, made Modern Warfare 1 and 2 in English. Smart folks
Treyarch's trend of making sub-par COD games is as reliable as their devotion to making their games annoying to play here, so you should probably think about importing this POS, I will be getting the Chinese version. |

So you wouldn't just download the full English version? |

Still need the key for valid multiplayer servers. i hate playing on private or hacked servers so many cheaters. Play-Asia is probably your best bet. |

I believe destroyer means for xbox360, or more likely ps3...
eamo's reference was to, likely, a pirated version, which destroyer is not into. (to each his/her own)
he's saying he likes the infinity ward people, but not the treyarch ones, especially when it comes to playing here on the ROK.
i say he should never have updated his ps3 firmware, and hacked the damn thing when he had the chance! (BUT, he doesn't listen to me. again, to each his own!)
actually, i don't know what he's talking about! |

You guys with good PCs are safe. STEAM up your whole house. my dinosaur PC can't play screen savers without skipping.
All I'm saying is: Beware when going to your local game shop on launch day looking for an English retail copy of COD:Body Odor for 360 or PS3. From my experience with Treyarch, it's gonna be in Korean and that make the game bloody difficult to play. I speak pretty good Korean, but when you're in the heat of an online battle and it tells you to capture the next control point or whatever, you want it to be automatic understanding, not mental translation.
As far as pirates go. Go for it. But as I've discussed with DenverDeath, a huge part of pretty much any videogame nowadays is the online multiplayer and having a modded system takes you out of that aspect of the game. Personally, I wanna frag other people, not tali-bots and well-scripted aliens.
Besides: you buy a game here in Korea for 50 bucks and can sell it back a month later for 40. It's cheaper than rentals back home! |

COD's singleplayer campaigns are so short anyways. It's really all about the MP for COD. |

Yeah, well if you like to play with snotty little 14 year-old punks, then be my guest to the trash-talking world of online gaming. Sure, a LAN game with friends is always a blast, but those opportunities rare. Besides, those sugar-filled PC brats always kick my ancient butt, so to heck with 'em! |

You can play copied xbox 360 games on xbl if you follow these 5 important steps:
Just make sure...
a) It is SSv2 (be very careful with this one. Problem is that you have no way of knowing what drive a downloaded game was ripped with. Only alternative is to force an autofix or manually patch and then check SS version of patched data via ini.
b) It has valid SplitVid
c) Stealth Passes
d) Stealth Verifies
e) Make sure the layerbreak is on the correct setting. (most burning software already does this for you like ImgBurn and CloneCD)
Then you can play live.. of course some people try to play the game before it hits retail and the MS servers will identify those boxes and then they wonder why they get banned. |

Never played multiplayer COD in Asia before, so
Re: Black Ops
Is there a decent PC/STEAM community here? Or are Koreans still hooked on Sudden Attack?
Can I expect horrendous lag? |

Yup, unfortunately it all went downhill after COD4. Treyarch have been promising dedicated servers though for this release at least. |

Can we expect Korea to stock English language versions of Black Ops?
Or will full online pay download be available? |

It appears the Korean release will have English menus. Seen it on a few different Korean websites and a trusted retailer here in Busan confirmed. Maybe no need to import! I will be able to confirm this in person tomorrow evening. |

As far as PC it's confirmed dedicated servers. I don't think lag will be an issue they have data center in Japan. I put in a request for Korea. (represent!) but i doubt they'll do anything about it.
Click the link to suggest Korea!

As i mentioned in my COD post above, i'd be down with getting a group together maybe even getting our own dedicated ranked server but it'd be for PC. |
