This story is very sad, and it creates a big confusing gray area. Do you feel bad for the kid because his father wouldn't let him be himself? Or do you hate the kid because he took it out on the rest of the family, especially his sister who was probably innocent in the whole thing...
Any thoughts? |

all i can say is, that's cold blooded.
I heard a similar story except it involved a kid telling another kid to burn his families house down so he could reap the insurance money and split it with him so they can have fun in Itaewon or something.
Korean kids, they are dangerous lol. |

He was either on drugs or he's a serious psychopath. |

Those aren't mutually exclusive. But from the story, I seriously doubt it was drugs, given the planning and timing. |

Pending autopsy results and such, I'm surprised he didn't physically attack them. Most people with pent-up rage want to lash out with a knife or a blunt object or something.
Arson-Muder, that's cold. Clearly he was trying to get away with it and not just snapping. |

Are you kidding? It's not as if his father was raping him. The father cared enough about his son to want him to make something of himself. Being told to study doesn't exactly justify murdering four people. Kid is psycho. |

A lot of people have thoughts of killing overbearing parents when they were young, me included. It's probably normal but the vast majority do not actually do it. |

In spite of the fact that he sounds like a psycho, he might not have meant to kill his family. People that young can't always make the connection between lighting the apt of fire and somebody inside it being burned to death. |

Just my own experience, no links or proof, but when I was young if I got into a fight or argument, I often had passing thought about doing harm to that person. But I've never actually seriously considered taking action. That's what separates normal people from the wackos. |

I hear you, I'm just f'in around (but not trying to make light of this tragedy).
I can recall occasionally fantasizing about killing certain teachers when I was a hoplite, but I don't hold any particular animosity towards them today. |

I used to threaten to send them to a nursing home that had rats.
My dad loves bringing this up, but we get on really well so it's just to tease me.
The kid has issues, and deserves to be locked up and treated. |

I'd prefer to put him under the jail.
No parole for parent killers in my kingdom |

I was saddened no one actually spoke for the kid.
It was not my first time hearing my English teacher friends told me their students list "sleeping" as one of the top things they want to do after they grow up. Korea has the least happiest kids in the world.
But they are not vegetations or pets.
I would say some parents are jerks as they push their kids to study so hard while remaining zero accomplishment themselves. |

You are one of the good ones. My sister made the same threat, except she is actually planning to follow through with it. I'll most likely be providing for my parents as soon I get a pharmacy job. |
