lol. Waking up hungover in your co-teacher's apartment. Ouch. 
I think it depends on your co-teacher - I know one of mine would tease me and laugh it off, I know another one who would have a fit and go to the heads of SMOE about it. Get her a gift and a nicely written card.
I hope it works out - we've all had our "soju moments" (if that's what you were drinking) |

Yeah, I don't teach public, but I can say that my kindergarten co-teacher who I spend about six hours a day with would just tease me mercilessly for a couple weeks, but definitely wouldn't take it personally. We have a very good relationship, however, and are friends outside of work. There are other teachers who definitely would not respond so nonchalantly. |

My coteacher spoke to me after lunch and told me what she knew. She's 24, btw.
Anyhow, sometime after midnight and before making a call to my coteacher at 3am, I met a Kgirl and ended up drinking with her outside of a family mart. Apparently, some old, drunk Korean men we didn't know started insulting her for drinking with me.
Anyways, what happened must have been pretty bad for the cops were called and the 3am phone call to my coteacher was made for translation purposes. No one was written up and coteacher told me to go home and that's what I did and that was when I realized that I didnt have my wallet and my keys. So, I called my friends to which no one picked up. So, I'm assumming that the second call to my coteacher was to tell her that I was locked out. She said she was gonna come pick me up.
Between the time that phone call ended and her arriving at my apartment, I had wondered off. She called me 4 times to locate me but I fell asleep outside on the wrong floor. She eventually found me within 30mins and drove me to her place. I don't recall those events but that's what she said.
Not too bad I guess... |

Of course, thus the "in the grand scheme of things". He already apologized, I'd probably get a gift, but it's not a situation that requires an inordinate amount of soul searching, particularly if he's actually friends with his co-teacher (which isn't entirely clear). |

Man, you guys don't know ANYTHING about blacking-out. Some of you should talk to old-timers who know the true meaning of having drunken black-outs.
There was one occasion when I was a soldier assigned to Camp Casey back in the early 90's. We would go out in packs of 15 or 20 and swarm around the bars until the early hours of the morning. One time, we were all stumbling drunk as we were going back to the gate when a fight from inside one bar overflowed outside into a huge free-for-all. I mean Soldier-fighting-soldier, Soldier-fighting-Korean and Korean-fighting-Korean. Even the juicy girls were pulling each other's hair extensions out. Then the next thing I remember was a wave of Military Police, waving batons, coming at the melee. They and the KNPs arrested everyone that was on the scene. Those that still had some sense ran away- you had people jumping over walls and running on rooftops. The next thing I remember was that it was morning and I was lying in front of some ajumma's doorstep. I got up with a wicked hangover. What didn't help much was that the old ajumma came out and started hitting me with a broom; I swatted it away as I left her gate.
Another time I had a weekend pass to go to Itaewon- back then, Itaewon was almost all bars with a few shops. We started hanging out on top of Hooker Hill- at that time, Itaewon was a crowded mess- more exciting than it is now. You could sit on the rooftops, drink and watch the pandemonium at the bottom of the hill. We all started to branch off as we met different girls.
I don't remember anything after 1am. When I got up the next morning, I was lying in a room at the Itaewon Hotel with two Russian girls- one on each side of me. I was like- whoa!  They woke up, gave me a kiss (as well as kissed each other) and left.
Those were the days  |

Not bad at all. I have a decent one, I was out drinking with some K girls that one of the guys I worked with knew. I think all in all it was 8 koreans guys and girls and 3 of us. Anyway the topic came up how you have to be "strong" to drink Soju and how they didn't think we could hang with them. So me being really smart I started to really tie one on just to show the guys but more so to impress the girls.
It went something like this shot, shot, shot, beer (Korean draft beer which makes me sick,) shot, shot, shot, shot, shot.... and so on
Who knows how much I really drank but I have no idea what happened after 12. What I do know is that I woke up in my apartment around 10 the next morning to my apt. door wide open, wearing only boxers, my shoes were in the sink, puke on top of the shoes, and a bag of untouched McDonalds burgers on the floor.
I closed my door ate the cold hamburgers and went back to sleep. That was the worst off I have ever been as far as not remembering what hapened but I have plenty of other stories where I have got myself into quite the pickle.
I won't tell the whole thing but a buddy and me met another friend in Central Seoul (a solid hour bus ride from our place) on a weeknight and by the end of the night the buddy I came with had lost his shoes and I had lost my North Face jacket and it was February. We got some pretty stange looks as we entered the bus with me in a T-shirt and him wearing only filthy white socks in the middle of winter.
He's still looking for a pair of size 10 brown Doc Martins in Seoul to this day. |

We have different views of what 'not too bad' means I think.
Quite the story and frankly this will make the rounds at your school. Not much chance that it won't. Good luck with that.
You should buy your co-teacher a present and apologize. Picking up a wasted co-worker at the cop shop in the middle of the night because he is so fall down drunk he cannot remember his whereabouts cannot be pleasant... |
