if you get married (to a korean), are you entitled to apply for and F4 visa?

I read in a previous post, that you need to provide evidence in the form of 10,000,000 in bank account before your partner can apply to be your sponsor - does this differ from kimmi to kimmi?

also wondering, if you can get an F4 - do you still need to provide the same evidence (ie CBC,apostiled and degree cert., apostiled).

If you marry a Korean, you can apply for an F-2-1 visa (F-4 visas are for non-Korean citizens of Korean ethnicity).

You will have to show that you have money, but it doesn't have to be in cash. If you have money as a deposit on your apartment, business, etc., that will work too. As long as you can show them that you won't be out on the street, you should be OK. You probably also need to show them that you're employed with a steady job.

In most cases, you won't need to do the CBC or degree check, but with this visa it will now be up to your employer. With the F-2 visa you are allowed to work wherever you want, so it is no longer an immigration issue. I know that most hagwon don't require F visa holders to go through all that trouble, but it seems that public schools still do.

As stated above, the F2 visa is a residency visa (vs the E2 which is a sponsored foreign worker visa).

The F2 allows you greater freedom when it comes to work but you still need to qualify for the job you want to do. In the case of teaching that means having a degree as you need that to qualify for an E2. You will not BE on an E2 but you still need to MEET THE REQUIREMENTS of that visa for the position of Teacher.

On a F2, you CAN teach privates legally but you will NEED to REGISTER with immigration and your gu office. The income you gain that way will be taxed.
