Hi,

Anyone know of good sites (paid or free) that I can watch streaming NHL games in hi-def? I particularly want to watch the Leafs but the official streaming package on the site says it's only for those within the Leafs broadcast region Rolling Eyes

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I'm only interested in Leafs games and the playoffs (hoping that they'll make the playoffs anyways-pretty sure they will this year). I think the package on mapleleafs.com was $49.99 which is more than reasonable.

Did you watch that game in HD? Also, can you explain what a vpn is? Sorry totally clueless about those terms.

Thanks again.

Last season I got the package from nhl.com and was happy as it ws $19.99 a month. This year though I found another site which does the EXACT same thing but is $11.99 a month. Here is the link:
http://www.hockeystreams.com/

The only worry I have is that I guess the nhl could try and shut it down so that's why I pay month to month. They even have an Iphone stream as well if you want to sign up for that. I have tried justin.tv and atdhe.net but sometimes it's so frustrating as streams cut out, games aren't on, keep getting notices to pay for a stream. I am very satisfied with hockeystreams.com

Admittedly the nhl.com site's picture was clearer, though if you pay a bit more than you can get higher quality from hockeystreams. I'm satisfied with the package that's I've got, can clearly see the game and most importantly the puck

Thanks for your help. Think I'm going to go with Gamecenter as they offer more features.

Hey,

Was thinking of getting the NHL Gamecenter Subscription. does that work here in South Korea? Also are the games sometimes blackedout for 48 hours after the games finished? I want to be able to watch the archived games but won't be able to resist the urge to check the score for 48 hours after the games finished. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I asked the question to Gamecenter and received the following response:

Your request about Other has been received on 10/20/2010 09:48 AM.

There are no blackout restrictions outside of North America, and the ability to watch in HD is dependent on the computer specifications and bandwidth of the end-user, please review the FAQs for details.

I feel ya!

I'm going to have to unsubscribe to all my news sources on Google Reader particularly Toronto Star and resist the urge to check the scores as well. No point in watching a game if I already know the outcome IMO Razz

I"m pretty sure if you are in korea you can watch the games live using NHL centre ice.
They only have the blackout if you are currently in the area of the team's market. So if you are in BC you have to wait 48 hours to watch the canucks games. IF you are outside of BC you can watch it at anytime.

I watched the Flyers / Leafs game on NHL.com's site in HD and the stream was very choppy. By the second period it was almost stop and start every 10 seconds. It became quite annoying.

Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions? I think that too many people are watching on Sunday morning, thus effecting the stream.
