I was supposed to receive my visa issuance number yesterday, but there's been no news as of yet. How long does it usually take to get after all the paperwork has been submitted?
The only thing I can think of that could possibly get me denied is that I have a misdemeanor of reckless driving on my record from 6 years ago. Would that be enough to get me denied? I didn't worry about it at first since it's just a traffic violation and not alcohol related. But I'm getting nervous now that I underestimated the standards of the Korean immigration...

If it is on your CRC (rather than your driving abstract) then it very well may get you denied.

It usually takes 4-10 working days to issue a visa confirmation number AFTER it gets to the immigration officer's desk.

It can take from as little as a few hours to as much as a weeks or two to get from the recruiter to the school and from the school to the immigration office.

Okay well I just got my visa issuance number! YAY! A big wave of relief hit me when I got the news. Does this mean that I'm in the clear? I know I still have to get through the interview, but if they gave me the number, that means I'm pretty much approved, right?

I had a nice chat during my interview. It was just some general questions(Why do you want to go to Korea? etc). After we went through those questions we were chatting for a few more minutes, and he told me basically the interview was so that someone could actually look at the person and see if they looked like they would be a problem. So, as long as you don't look like a drug user, pervert, alcoholic, prostitute, etc, you should be ok.

^^

Good luck~!

My interview wasn't really an interview. I was in camo shorts and flip flops and they asked me nothing. That was in Guam though.
