Hey guys, the search feature isn't working for me otherwise I would have checked before posting this. As some of you may remember me mentioning in other posts, I am about to work in a rural part of Korea in the CEPIK program. I'm thrilled to work in a rural area, but I couldn't see myself doing it for more than a year.
While one is in Korea, how hard is the process of applying to another school? If going from a public to private school, everything needed for the visa process is required again, correct? What about having transcripts mailed to you if you're overseas? |

Public schools in Chungcheongnam-do, I'm assuming that's what the C stands for. It's right next to Daejeon, and since it's rural they apparently have a hard time keeping it staffed because they have a high demand for teachers while school is still in session.
I don't mind experiencing rural Korea for a year. It'll be fun and a great experience, but I doubt I'd want to make that my only stop in Korea. |

In that case, if you stay with your education office CEPIK but move to another school. You just check the you want to transfer box on your renewal form. And for your reasoning. Just say you want to try a different level. Generally saying you don't like the area or the student's doesn't fly too well them.
But if your changing education departments. Like CEPIK to I don't GEPIK (the Gyeonggi do program). You have to resubmit everything: diplomas, CBC, transcripts, apostillles. And I think (Big emphasis on THINK), you need a new visa. Make sure you also leave on good terms with your school. Whatever new school that hires you will check up on your job performance in CEPIK. Especially if you list it to get the pay upgrades. |

CEPIK is another branch of EPIK so it's pretty much the same. But when I was there it was noted for having the highest salaries (100,000 won per month more) among the provinces adminstered by EPIK. Yes the hours are the same (22 per week). There IS OT but it depends on your school. If it is small you will get little to no OT. If it is larger your chances of OT go up. |
