| Would like a galbi place, preferably beef but pork would be fine. Don't really mind if it's upscale or not as long as the food is good. |

The only "chain" BBQ places i like are the Nolboo Galbi places. It has like a Budda looking guy on a red & white stripe background. There are places all over in Gangnam. I've eaten at the so called "Hanwoo Korean Beef" places that are a LOT more expensive, less side dishes, but frankly i don't really taste much difference at all.

First, this review is coming from a carnivore with an extensive restaurant background and a couple of years in Korea trying quite a LOT of galbi places 
Solae 소래. It is a Korean chain restaurant but JEEBUS IS IT DELICIOUS!! I usually go to the location at SNUoE (Keyodae) station in Gangnam half way down to Nambu terminal on the right. It is ALWAYS crowded, the staff is awesome and they love foriegners.
I get the pork (Galmaegi Sal is how it sounds. Not sure how to spell it in Korean). It's W13,000 and enough for 2 guys or 3 girls to share and get stuffed. The sides are amazing and the beer is cheap too. The beef (So Galbi) is a little more expensive, W17,000 i think, but I didn't like it as much as the pork.

P.S. I would travel from east Seoul to west Seoul to get to one of these locations if I had to. It's that good. Luckily, they are a chain  |
