Hello, I have had a job offer in Cheong Ju City and i just wanted to get some feedback on this city from people who have lived there ? I have been told there are lots of foreign language teachers here so i will have no problem meeting similar people, i would appreciate any information people have on Cheon Ju City. |

I lived in CJ for 2 and half years. (within 5-10 minutes, close enough) It's pretty typical as Korean cities go. I think they have a population of about 600,000- nothing to scoff at. Personally, I prefer smaller cities.
You're right about the foreigners though. You should have no problem meeting people. Another good thing about Cheongju is that it is very centrally located which makes it fairly easy to get just about anywhere in the country. Daejeon is really close by as well.
My biggest complaint about the city when I lived there was the traffic. But I suspect some of that may be clearing up a bit as they finish some of their construction projects. |

a basic way to describe Korea (cities) is that it is composed of Seoul, Busan, rural chicken towns, and then everything else is pretty much the same concrete jungles filled with cinder block and neon lights. Cheongju is the latter. |
