" I want to do it for flexibility and strength and maybe stress relief."

I think maybe you want an aerobics, kickboxing or calisthenics class/video tutorial. Yoga has become popular and I see why yoga pants and all the other hoopla has become faddish.

DD. I think that you when you say 'most yoga is bad for you' that you might mean most instructors don't know what the heck they're doing. Correct me if I'm wrong. You're going to drive away potentials if you act like yoga is this exclusive 'thing'. but, I think I understand you. It's more than just stretching, breathing and moving. I guess you can call that what you want.

How about that Foreign Exchange stuff, by the way.
Namaste!!

For the record. Smoking dope does RELAX me.

Smoking dope makes you think you are relaxed which is very different from really being relaxed.

I once adjusted a guy who could stand on his head for hours in yoga poses. The town worshipped him and said how he only needed a few hours sleep a night. They said he had so much energy and could do ten times the things they could.

The day after I reset his nervous system out of the flight or flight reaction the yoga had instilled in him. He thanked me that he had finally had a good nights sleep and could finally relax and sit still during the day.

I explained to him how he had been running on adrenaline and wasnt able to relax because of improper yoga postures.

He said that he felt so relaxed now, and asked me not to tell the villagers so he could still maintain his hero status as the high energy yogi.

Real peace lets you sleep at night even if you are from ny. people are addicted to adrenaline these days and their yoga helps keep them on it.

True yoga winds you down off the adrenaline.

Read Bruce Lipton to understand the ill effects of being hyped up all the time.

mind at peace- then you have confused peace and delusion.

If by delusion you mean happiness and tranquility, then sure. I'm deluded into being happy. What a horrible thing!

Damned hippie. Every thread you join becomes tainted with your patchouli stench.

Yes what a hippie with my short hair, suit and tie everyday and I can't stand the smell of patchouli.

Every thread you are in is about heh look at me please pay attention to ny gal. You go on and on about how you awesome you are. Basically just an attention wh+++ whose all ego, stress and numbing herself to pretend she is peaceful. Cant get much more hippie than fake happiness and yoga there girl.

That's funny, DD, because I don't see this as saying "Hey look at me." I was providing a link and recommending pilates for better core fitness.

A suit does not stop you from being an armchair doctor and HIPPIE. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig.

Ah, but it sure does keep a body fit and a mind at peace.

Here's a decent one for beginner stuff:

Try to incorporate some pilates and your core will thank you.

You think its bs because you are addicted to adrenaline. ie cant sleep.

Thats just your ego fighting to be the master-must keep the ego busy so it can maintain the delusion of being in charge.

Me thinks "The Power of Now" might be a good read for you. It's so common even Oprah suggests it. Learn to get past that thinking mind there girl. Such a doing machine and proud of it. ie worked your way through college on two jobs plus study. "Humus mechanicus" is not the species we are supposed to be.
