Hi
Im here on an F4 visa and Im gonna be applying for some teaching jobs soon. Im wondering if I need a "Korean" style resume and if I should add any additional information not usually found on western style resumes. I know korean resumes usually include a picture but is there anything else?
thanks! |

I've never known a foreigner who used a Korean style resume. The only reason I know what one looks like is because a Korean friend showed me (really different). I don't think they will expect a Korean one from you even if you are on an F4. The resume I saw included EVERYTHING, even weight and height. If you want, you could do both, a Korean one and a Western one, but you're safe with the Western.
I did add my photo in my resume (top corner in MS Word) so I wouldn't have to keep attaching one to it. |

a western style resume is ok
just keep it short and make it easy to understand
- a good professional photo
- omit non-related job experience(s)
for the average hakwan job
a good photo is more important than experience
a (long) list of job changes
such as bartender/waiter/etc.
looks bad to prospective k/employers |
