I think I read a study that 17% of koreans(1/6) wash their hands.

Why they don't is simply laziness and its not ingrained into them to do it.

My guess is that public restrooms that have a souce of running water for washing hands is fairly new in Korean history, and many even today, the water is probably so contaminated that it would make your hands dirtier.

I watched one of the adjummas selling bung-a-bang for over an hour - because i was in a building next to her - she must has scratched her butt twice, her nose a few times - her ears and hair a lot... and servied people bung-a-bung all day without using plastic gloves or tongs - just used her hands....

Mmmm... mush-ita

I wash my hands constantly at work because those little hoodlums grab me with their dirty paws and I touch dirty surfaces all the time in the hellwon.

The other Korean teachers always tell me I'm "very clean" as I wash my hands before I eat and when I get back from the restroom in the hallway. What the *beep*? Don't they wash their hands before they eat?

Handwashing is a trait that would do this country some good.

all you washing the ol hands guys and gals...

snap out of it would ya

washing in cold water does nothing anyway Rolling Eyes it might wash away that little brown nugget that broke through the toilet paper but the germs remain.

what a sheltered life you guys have. even washing in hot water doesn't do jack. most germs won't die until temperatures of at least 100c and that is only a minute few when it comes to food. only at 180c do all food related germs die, i say all (maybe not all, but all the dangerous 1's) cuz that what the board of health demands as a minimum for the temperature of a deep fryer

soap. yes, soap is the only way to kill germs. antibacterial soap.

all these lies you tell yourselves must really restrict your quality of life.

get over it and enjoy your food

Are you assuming that people don't use soap when they wash their hands? Soap, yes soap, is a good thing and I would assume that washing one's hands implies using it.

Where have you been living? I worked in various catering establishments in the UK for over ten years and believe me, this adjumma would get a job there in no time. Just cos it looks nice front of house you think hygeine is better do you? Rolling Eyes

I'm with Wylde on this one...

Actually, the only reason soap is a good thing is that you have to wash harder to get it off and this helps remove some bacteria. But the soap itself is of no antibacterial benefit unless it is specifically designed that way. You might as well use shampoo or washing up liquid or even yoghurt.

Again, who the hell washes their hands with non-antibacterial soap?

i dunno bro... there are not too many places with soap i have seen.

example.. my school of 2000 kids doesnt have soap in any bathroom. most restaurants that arent new or expensive dont have it (that i have been to).

there should be a ton of other example here as i do rarely have the opportunity to use soap
