Hello Dave's.
I'm a bit tired of this ~21" piece of junk TV that the school provided for me. I want to junk it and get a nice 40-42" HDTV.
I like to watch HD Movies, and I have a wii. I'll be connecting my laptop to it, as that will serve as my bluray player and whatnot.
Now, I'm wondering where I should go. I live in Daejeon. I figure I have 3 choices:
1) Homeplus
2) Costco? (I haven't been there yet)
3) GMarket
I'd like to keep the price closer to 1,000,000 W.
I seem to see these TV's on Gmarket a lot, and the price seems alright. I can't really look up model reviews like I normally would, so I don't know if it's worth it.
http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=186912066&pos_shop_cd=EN&pos_class_cd=90000003&pos_class_kind=T
What do you think?
Gmarket seems to be the way to go in terms of price. And I could get it delivered... but considering I am never home to accept delivery, I might have to have a workaround. Maybe have my landlord unlock the door for them and sign for it. |

Don't worry about this too much. For large items like a TV they will call you in advance and arrange a delivery date and time with you. Unless you are literally never home (in which case I have to wonder why you are buying a TV) they will come when it is convenient for you.
In fact it works basically the same way if you buy a TV from Homeplus or Emart. You can't just buy one and walk out the door with it. They only have the display models. They don't keep them in stock. It will get delivered to you a few days later from the same LG warehouse. Gmarket (or any other online shopping site) is clearly the way to go. |

Ah, I see, I see. Thank you for the information. Online is the way to go, then. I am home, but like many it is not until at least 5 PM... and on the weekends. It seems the normal delivery time is always while I'm working, then I'm not home to sign for it. So I usually get stuff sent to my school. I'll have a Korean help arrange delivery for me.
@Sheriffadam, to be honest-- after I posted I did notice the model number. There are so many numbers I didn't spot it at first, haha.
It appears to be a decent TV for the price, so I think that's the way I will go. |
