|
|
I recently accepted a university position after receiving the offer, but haven't heard anything since my response... it's been five days. I feel a bit silly asking if I should contact the school, but I'm concerned that there has not yet been a response to my confirmation of accepting the position.
If it makes a difference, I must tell my current school whether I am staying or leaving on Friday... obviously, I'm leaving, but it makes me queasy to thell them so when I haven't signed a new contract yet.
Any suggestions? Thoughts? Too soon to worry?
Thanks. |

I had the same kind of problem when I got hired at my Uni. They really are just a mess of bureauacracy. That's all it is, more than likely.
However, you probably want to email them again soon. The new Visa regulations need to be started on soon. This seems to not have sunken in to some schools yet. |

Instead of asking them directly, maybe make up some sort of question about the class schedule, housing arrangements, etc, and see if they respond to that. That way, if they respond, at least you can feel more comfortable about your position there. |

I would call them and ask if they need any more documents from you. Usually once they hire you, your paperwork may need to go through a hiring committee. It might just be taking some time to get things ready. |
