I think my building is on fire, room is full of smoke but the firefighters have told me to stay inside. It's like breathing plastic. I wonder if this will be a good excuse to turn up late? |

if you're still inside: wet a towel and place it on the crack between the door and the floor. |

Live in a 15 story officetel, the fire was on the first floor in a butchers. There was smoke everywhere everytime I blow my nose it comes out black and all my clothes stink of burning plastic.
The smoke was coming in through the bathroom air vents. Seems to be undercontrol now, but man the smoke was thick.
If you live in hansol central park 1 in beomgye your room and everything you own is going to stink of burning plastic. I just hope you left your windows open |

Smoke smells plastic because there are plastic stuffs burning, creating toxic chemicals. Firefighters are only concerned about extinguishing fire, thus they think it's okay for you to stay in as far as the fire is contained. I would have existed the building regardless so that I don't have to inhale toxic smoke. |

The hallway was full of smoke, the amount of smoke I breathed in my room was much less than I would have got if I had tried to walk down 15 flights of stairs. Plus I didn't know where the fire was, so for all I know I could have been walking closer to the fire.
The thing that really sucks is I had just done three loads of clothes, now I'm going to have to wash them again to get the smoke out.
and to waltjocketty the butchers is gone, just some melted stands, don't think I will be getting any samgapsal from there and even if i did it would be very well done |

It's my apartment so no need to call my boss. Still don't think it would have been a good idea to leave |

Didn't ask for advice and the firemen had told me to stay inside. I had a shower, got ready for work put my passport a change of clothes and my stash of money in a bag then I had and nothing else to do. I assumed that if i was in any real danger I wouldn't have been told to stay in my apartment.
what else was I meant to do? make a sheet rope to abseil out of my 15 story apartment? |
