Just wondering if anyone in Korea has either the DELTA or the Diploma TESOL? What did you think of the course? I'm taking the Cert TESOL in January 2011 and am considering doing either the DELTA/Dip TESOL soon afterward. I was just wondering why you decided on one and not the other? Which would you recommend? I'm leaving Korea and won't waste money and time teaching with one here.

Trinity Dip TESOL for me. You generally have to have at least 2 years FT teaching (or equivalent) post-cert. before they let you on the course. Thus, it might not be possible to do it right after your CELTA.

I thought it was one of the top academic experiences of my life. Better than a lot of MA coursework. As always, what you get out of it is proportional to the effort you put in. But if you're keen on developing, and willing to put a lot of the stuff you read about into practice, is can be very rewarding.

You're right that it's wasted in Korea. Even the Middle East seems to prefer an MA. If you're going to Europe or looking to go with a more professional organization like the BC in more mature markets like HK or Singapore, though, it seems indispensable nowadays.
