Hello,
The search feature's being odd (it either only lets me search one word or doesn't load a page after I click search), so I guess I'll just post a new topic with a story:

I was offered a job with a seemingly reputable hogwon (big chain, director spoke English very well, had positive conversations with known current teacher) and just recently received my visa issuance number. My concern, however, is that on my original contract, the start date wasn't filled in (it was February _____, 2011) because the FBI had just received my CBC request on October 25th. The school was being flexible as the 12 week timeframe would have my CBC back mid January. Can I get a visa without a strict starting date on my contract. Also, with the VIN, my recruiter informed me that the school would like me to start ASAP. Should I be worried?

On another token, I don't have the physical signed contract; do I need one for the Visa to be issued (In the US)?

Ask your recruiter for some sort of signed contract. In all honesty you might not get the actual signed copy until you arrive at your hogwan, but you should come over with something so you can make sure it is what you signed originally.

If you've been given a VIN then you should be good to go.

The important thing is for you to make sure the dates of your visa and contract match up after you get to Korea. If your visa expires before your contract you should make sure to extend it at immigration. Don't work on an expired visa just because you are still under contract.

Hey there, I built a better search: http://searchESLCafe.com

For example, you could try: http://visa_issuance_number.searcheslcafe.com

Thanks Korussian. That search page seems to work well.
