Hi
I'm thinking of doing a quiet, beach and yoga stint in Koh Pha Gnam. I would only be there for a few days, then I'm heading up north.
Could anybody reccomend a resort? I'm looking at Ananda Resort or the Sanctuary. I'm sort of leaning towards *not* doing a cleansing/detox, so maybe I don't even need to stay at one of those resorts.
Has anybody stayed at teh Ananda or Sanctuary and want to weigh in? The Ananda is cheaper, but I heard the beds aren't nice. The Sanctuary looks ok, but I'm worried it would be too... I dunno. The website uses the word "funky" too often.
Thanks! |

Hi there!
I stayed on Koh Pha Gnam for just 5 days with my girlfriend. She wanted to try out the Ananda Yoga place and I was skeptical. But honestly, the place is beautiful, the vegetarian cuisine is amazing (and I am a meat eater!), and the course is excellent.
I am not big into Yoga or anything, but I found it to be quite nice, relaxing, meditative. I've always wanted to go back to that place. I highly recommend it! |

I 100% agree - I stayed there and did the course for a month and it was life-changing
You can rent a place at the school itself, but the best is to rent a scooter as soon as you get to Koh Pangan and then drive to the school, sign up, drop off your bags and then look for a little hut next to the beach.
Ananda is a great place - enjoy!!! |
