Are buses and trains still open on Christmas? Specifically, the intercity buses.

Last year they still ran--the local buses and trains (read subways) anyway. As for the others, I would say yes--Christmas, while a national holiday, is not nearly as important here as it is in the west. Many businesses will still be open because it is seen as a kind of date holiday, and many young people go out to enjoy it.
