|
|
I've been offered a university job beginning in March, but my EPIK contract doesn't end until September. If I give 30 days notice as stipulated in my contract, and the Office of Education cancels my visa, what are the ramifications at immigration? I was told by someone (Korean), that in the future, any time my name came up on immigration's system, there would be a notation that I had "broken" my contract. Any insights, experiences that contradict or confirm this? I know I will have to get a new visa, but was just curious about his statement. |

Immigration doesn't care. You are allowed to break a contract. Nothing illegal about it. |

Give notice and quit.
No worry BUT
EPIK is NOT obligated to give you a LOR nor are they required to allow you to transfer your visa.
You MAY need to exit the country to cancel your visa, return, apply for a new visa confirmation number and then do a visa run to obtain your new visa for your new job.

ttompatz,
From reading your posts for a couple of years, you seem to have valuable information based on your experiences in Korea. Would it be possible to email you to discuss my situation in detail? (I don't have enough posts to PM)
Thanks for your reply! |
