I was looking at a recruiters website, and I noticed that they mentioned if you submit applications to two different recruiting agencies, that you will be automatically disqualified.

I was wondering if that applies to both EPIK and GEPIK (are they even different)?

I was planning on perhaps applying to korvia for GEPIK and the government program for EPIK

www.korviaconsulting.com

www.epik.go.kr

Any ideas if this is possible without getting disqualified?

Apple and orange.

You can apply for both and not worry about disqualification. They are separate entities.

on the application form from EPIK.go.kr it allows you to put down Gyeonggi as one of your preferred areas, sorry if this comes across stupid but why do you then need to apply for GEPIK separately?

I'm not sure about all the application process, but my reasoning is this:

On the GEPIK application I've looked at, you can actually pick a specific city of Gyeonggido - in my case, Ansan where I have a friend.

Now, there is a possibility that things don't work out, and I end up not wanting to go to Ansan anymore. Or maybe GEPIK's only offer is on the ass-end of Gyeonggi somewhere. My second choice would probably be Busan. So it would be nice to have options if possible.

Also, I figure it might double my chances of landing a job somewhere in Korea at least.

If my reasoning is wrong in any of this, please somebody let me know.

That is what I thought you might be doing. Goodluck.

Is there a way to apply directly to GEPIK? Or must you go through a recruiter?

If so, is there a deadline for the GEPIK application?

Thanks

Yes, you can apply directly through GEPIK.
IF you are in Korea you can send your application package to them at the Suwon office (Jowon-dong).

They should have the re-vamped website up soon with the 2011 recruitment details, contracts and application packages.
