Since my teenage years, I've worn glasses. The last time I had a proper eye test was around 10 years ago. I was told then I only needed to wear glasses when reading.

Being a lazy so-and-so I decided to wear them all the time anyway.

Yesterday, I sat on my glasses by mistake. Today, was my first day in many years that I spent the entiire day without glasses. I had absolutely no headaches/migraines and everything was ok.

I think I had developed a sense of security wearing glasses.

In fact, I would say wearing glasses non-stop may well have caused many of my previous headaches.

I've decided I'm not going to wear glasses anymore, unless my eyesight goes noticeably downhill.

Last night, I made the intention to live a glasses-free life. My rationale was I haven't had an eye test in 10 years and wearing the same glasses for eyesight that may have changed in that period was foolish.

I also pondered over the fact I was originally told 10 years ago, I should only wear my glasses when I read. I am long-sighted.

It feels good to not wear glasses and not suffer, at least not yet. Laughing

My eyes now feel like a cool breeze is blowing through them. They also feel relaxed. This was totally absent with glasses.

Admittedly, things don't look as sharp without glasses, but I hope a period of adjustment will improve matters. The good news is nothing is blurred.

I look good. Laughing

If I stopped wearing glasses I'd probably walk into something. Arghhh, the curse of being short sighted.

I take it you're not planning on doing any driving, or long-sighted folks don't aren't required to wear them for driving.

I'd love to go lenses-free, but that would be very dangerous. I wear 7.50/8.00 prescription contacts Confused

And anyone who wears reading glasses knows that if you try to use them for distance you would be almost blind. This is one of his sadder attempts for attention.
