I'd like to find some Italian food products in the general Seoul area, or even in the Bundang area, specifically: pesto, prosciutto cotto/crudo, mortadella, salami, large block of parmesan cheese, mozzarella di buffala and any other Italian cheeses, gnocchi, and passata sauce for pasta. Does anyone know a place that stocks these items or where I may be able to find them? I'm looking for actual Italian products imported from Italy and not stuff that's made in Korea or elsewhere.
I know that Homeplus/Emart stock small pieces of parmesan and Buitoni pasta/spaghetti, but I've yet to come across any of the other items on my list.
Any help would be appreciated. |

High Street Market, the new place in Itaewon, has a lot of genuine stuff (though pricey).
You can probably find some stuff at the foreign market up from Hooker Hill, but it's a bit more hit and miss.
I think Sortino's carries some stuff too, but I'm not sure. |

HADDON market has most things you ask. including the Bufula.
gnocchi you should just make it yourself, you can buy a Ricer on gmarket for 20 bucks.. COSTCO has tortelinni and ravioli and parmesan and padano, and the proscut, mortadella, salami and wines..
buon appetito...
Haddon is in hannam dong, costco is in Yangjae, both can be reach by bus from Bundang.. for starters you should go to I LOVE COOKIE in CAFE STREET in Jeongja station you will be able to find a few things there..
also the internet is good for hard to find things, have a korean type in the things you want, and have them order them for you online.. |

Thanks for the replies.
I'll be sure to check out High Street Market in Itaewon, and that place in Jeongja. I thought Haddon House had closed down, or was that Hannam Market? Once I figure out the bus routes from my part of Bundang then a trip to Costco may be on the cards too.
I guess I could make the gnocchi myself. If anyone else can contribute to this thread then please do. |
