with your lessons? do you think you're a really good teacher, especially when talking to 1st year teachers with no experience?
sometimes i fall into this pit but i try not to be that way. i could very easily give away all my lessons to 1st year teachers but i feel like they need to learn the hard way and make their own lessons instead of giving them freebies. they need to feel that struggle.
and when i'm talking to first year teachers who are talking about their frustrations, i give advice as if i was teacher of the year 10 years in a row. i probably come off like a grade A douche bag.
just being honest. i upload games once in a while on deubelbeiss's site though. |

It's funny how even a tiny amount of power can go to one's head... |

Well, did anyone help you when you a first year teacher?
Probably not, so don't feel bad. |

I didn't expect anyone to help me. I'd had the foresight to do a little preparation myself before going to Korea, and had a working knowledge of what was expected of an EFL teacher.
I'll happily gives hints, tips and ideas to new teachers about what works and doesn't work in a particular environment (eg my school). But I refuse to hold anybody's hand. I'm all about personal responsibility, and am a firm believer in survival of the fittest among healthy adults. It's sink-or-swim out there, and unfortunately the people who can't, or won't, adapt are likely to fail. It's good practice for real life! |

Because teaching is all about the teacher and not the students right? What a silly idea, if someone wants to use my lessons fine let them. I get at least half of mine online from other people. Less work and probably better quality materials for the students everyone wins. |

Come to grips with yourself op. What you are doing (in both your job in Korea and in your interactions with your colleagues) is not socially or politically of any significance. |
