|
|
Hi guys,
I'm heading to Tokyo for 10 days this winter and want to see the famed Fuji Mountain while I'm there. Does anyone have any day trips to recommend?
I'm also traveling alone, so any other tips or suggestions would be great.
Thanks for your help! |

Thanks, this sounds like a great deal! Do you happen to know how much in advance do you have to book it and what the equvalent price is in JYP? |

Aha, found that info on the link. XD
But I did notice that hotel drop off is not included in the price. How did you get back to your hostel/hotel/homestay after this? |

You know, after all these years, I'm still not interested in walking up Mt. Fuji.
I've also never been to Kyoto and don't give a rat's ass about temples. |

Kawaguchiko (Fuji Go Ko) or Hakone. The latter can be very crowded on weekends when everyone from Tokyo arrives. |

Chris,
Thanks. I was intending on exploring that area and am glad to now know what the situation is with respect to when everyone from Tokyo arrives.
Cheers! |

I went to Hakone for a few nights when I was in Japan last month. Get the bullet train to Odawara, then transfer to the local train Odawara to Hakone Yumoto, & finally, catch the #2 bus from outside Hakone Yumoto Station up to Miyanoshita. (#2 is Moto Hakone: there are other busses as well). I bought a 3 day package of coupons at Odawara train station tourist info office that allowed me access to the Lake Ashinoko pirate ship, the cablecars up to Owakadani, unlimited local bus travel, & other perks. The lines 7 & 11 are on the same platform. You go down the escalator & walk back behind it to find the start of the line to Hakone Yumoto. 2 trainlines share the same platform. Threw me at first.
Or you could get an express bus from Shinjuku in western Tokyo. Don't bother with the Moto Hakone guesthouse, as it's closed. I ended up staying at the Fuji guesthouse past Miyanoshita. They normally require advance bookings. They have heated onsen pools screened off from view. |
