Update: So, I've had my Tab for about two weeks now and am wondering just exactly what people do on their Tabs and/or smartphones.

Besides email and the occasional (God dang, is this spelled correctly?) web browsing, I find little else to do on my Tab. I'm not interested in watching TV, playing games, or Facebook'ing/chatting.

Is there anything else we can do on our smartphones? Confused

I want one primarily for those things you listed, but also for reading e-books. I have an iPod touch, but it's a very small screen for reading.

There are many things you can do with the smart phones. Look into some apps. Browse them according to your interests, and you should find something. Smile

I'm wondering if there's a way to get a tab and a phone on the same plan. The tab relly appeals to me. However, it's not always convenient to carry something aroubnd that size as a phone.

I have a feeling that Drew will say my best bet would be to buy one outright and switch sim cards as needed (I have SK w/ a smartphone plan), but there may be other options.

Not unless you have an F class visa (F2/4/5) and are willing to pay for 2 smartphones.

I'm pretty interested in the tab as well, but...like you...I just can't see myself carrying it around everywhere I go. I like a regular smartphone because you just toss it in your pocket and go. This thing doesn't fit in your pocket, but it does have bluetooth so you don't have to have it out all the time.

A good compromise would be the Dell Streak. It has a 5" screen, works like a tab, but acts like a smartphone. However...that's through KT. BUT...You would have to cancel your smartphone account before signing up for the tab anyways.

Hi ldh2222, yes I'm on the 55k/month plan for 2 years.

With the 2-year contract discount included, I'm paying 13,027won/month for the Tab.

So, this is what my basic monthly cost will look like (this is assuming I don't go over my min/text limit, etc etc):

55,000-----300min/200text/unlimited data plan
13,027-----discounted Tab price (312,648won, assuming 2 years)
5,500-------tax on the data plan
______
73,527-----my monthly fee

This does not include a 'signup fee' of 39,600 for all new SK users and a 'USIM fee' (no idea what this is!) of 9,900. You can pay this upfront or have it included into your first 5 monthly payments.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think I don't have to pay taxes on the monthly Tab price (13,027).

I got a free screen protector, but no other extras. Hope you do better with the freebies!

Hope that helps! If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. Very Happy

PS- New question. Probably a stupid question, but forgive me, I'm totally new to smart phones. Does the unlimited data refer to 3G data?

What a ripoff!
