Hi all and happy Monday!
I'll be going back to the UK on Thursday evening as I have all of next week off. Anyway, I know that the visa re-entry rules have changed and now state that we don't need a re-entry stamp anymore - just our ARCs. However, I've heard of people having problems once they get to the emigration desk, i.e. some of the emigraton officers are unaware of the changes.
Has anyone checked out of Incheon recently - did you have any problems? Would it be worth getting to Incheon early and going to the immigration office?
Thanks |

I went back to Australia just before Christmas (travelling Air Malaysia), and arrived back in Seoul on Saturday morning. I had absolutely no problem on either end, with the airline or the immigration officers. This is even though the re-entry sticker in my passport is clearly expired. Assuming the validity date on the back of your ARC is legible, you should have no problem.
Another point, the immigration officer at Incheon on the way back in told me I don't have to fill out an entry card as I have an ARC. Koreans don't have to either. |

That's why I still have 2 entry/departure cards. Only fill out the quarantine questionnaire and hand it in at, "nothing to declare," in the center exit after picking up your bags and then your are immediately off to the buses with only a 50 meter straight forward walk. Tell immigration on your way out you are coming back on the E-2 and then it's only an easy 5 second thing to stamp your way back in with no excessive negative judgmental questioning. ICN is nicest airport in the world for a quick and easy in and out process which also includes conveniently located currency exchanges, small marts like Family Mart, restaurants, and even a secure place to privately sleep in a bed and shower for only around $30. ICN airport is the best. Manila's terminal 1 and 3 airports are both horribly the worst in design, services, corrupt police, and bureaucratic processes. |
