edit: i don't really think they know themselves. just asked another 2 teachers, both said different things. 1 said big booies the other said big body. 1 said bad and the other said it depends on the situation. i found all the males say it is ok while all the females say it is bad..

Given that most Korean females have EXTREMELY unrealistic views on body image and beauty (even the stick-thin ones think they need to diet), do you really expect them to say anything else? But most men want more than a ten-year-old boy's body to cuddle at night, so naturally it makes sense that the men would attach a positive connotation to "glamour", while the women would disparage it. There's no real contradiction here.

make of it what you will..... from the info i have gathered it seems that glamour is not good thing to say to gals..

2 males just told me negative meaning..

i will say it is bad thing to say. i cannot make you alter your opinion on what i have been told... but ya should ask a bunch of people before sticking to 1 opinion.

This is interesting. So there are two sides to the coin - a more innocent version where being called "glamour/ous" means that you have a nice, voluptuous shape, or that you dress like a prostitute.

I think i will pretend that it means the former, and that they mean it as a compliment, as they are not viscious kids, really sweet, and I think they mean it as a compliment, since everyone in my school thinks i look good. which is a good thing i guess.

Thanks wylde, you have been doing great research - keep up the good effort.

I do have one comment, however, about how many guys wanted to see "photos" - we are not gonna provide you with more material to m@sterbate over - search out your own porn.

Well my gf says it means big boobs, slim waiste, and full hips and butt. A nice sexy shape, and it's very positive.

Funny how some people say it's positive, some negative.
I see it differently to you Corporal. You say that women see it as negative due to their bad body image.
I see it as more akin to the male wolf-whistle from a building site. The man might say it was a positive thing, a compliment or whatever. Some women might see it that way too. But many women would find it insulting and would interpret it as a negative thing.
I think the same might apply to the glamour 'compliment'.

Well...actually I wasn't making it quite so simple as that. Wink I was simply suggesting a reason for why Asian women (in particular) might say that a word denoting "lush body" is a negative one, given their genetic tendency towards smaller, less amply proportioned sizes. In the same way, a culture of Reubenesque women might characteristic Asian girls as skinny, scrawny, weak, or sickly creatures whose narrow hips and small chests make them ill-prepared for fertility and childbirth. Neither of those perceptions are entirely fair, of course, but you can understand why either side might characterize their opposite in such a manner.

Glamour...?.... I don't recall ever hearing anybody (ie. Korean) say this word in that Konglishee way... But I have heard or read it means having "big boobs". That's all I know. And there's nothing wrong with that at least. Now a lot of Korean women are attractive enough. But a lot would like to be "glamour" girls too I guess. Even over here in the far east there is some obsession with boobs...
