I've finally found a guitar I'm happy with in Korea so now I'm looking to start a band.

I'm interested in starting a few different bands. I've posted videos to some of the stuff you may not have heard of.

I have been thinking of something post-rock instrumental type thing (think: Maybeshewill, And So I Watch You From Afar, and 65daysofstatic.) These are my main influences (maybe looking to start a band that write slightly heavier instrumental stuff - this kind of thing).

I'm also interested in starting a math-core/metalcore/hardcore (think: Converge, the first Dillinger Escape Plan album, and early Cave In).

I'm also interested in starting an indie/alt-rock/dance hardcore band (think: Q and Not U, Youthmovies, Foals and Tired Irie.

Lastly, I'm also interested in starting a hard-rock/alt-rock/post-hardcore band (think At The Drive-In, Biffy Clyro, Refused, Mclusky, etc.).

Having said all that, I'm interested in starting just about anything (punk (both 70 stuff and more modern stuff - think the first Finch album), folk, jazz, post-punk, a covers band, goth, grind, metal, grunge, indie, brit-pop).

I only really want to play guitar or bass so looking for another guitarist, bassist, drummer and maybe a singer depending on the type of music. If you're interested in jamming then respond on here or drop me a PM.

So you're looking for a time machine to take you back to the 90's? I'd check eBay.

You have a good taste in music. Too bad I'm not in Korea yet.

Do you want a medal for being so wonderfully witty? Now, move along. This place is for grown-ups.

You have some good influences. I really love Mclusky's off shoot 'Future of the Left'. Also 'Forward Russia' and 'foals'.
There are a couple of kiwi bands you may like:

Anyway, unfortunately I am too poor of a guitar player to be in a band - but if you get one up and running post where you are playing, I'd love to come and watch.

Good luck!

hey mate,

you'll only get better by playing. an by the sounds of it morris has plenty of energy and wants to go in a lot of directions. you don't have to perform in all of them. just get together and jam. anyway I'd love to get involved too but hard to commit the time.

sounds interesting. It'd be cool to have one song reflecting all those influences.

would be interested if it could potentially sound like pelican / red sparowes
or in terms of metal, no wings to speak of era hopesfall or early misery signals

I live in the west, near Omokyo.

Also, the person who was going on about the 'nineties' I was thinking about my favourite bands - most of whom began in the early eighties - Big Black, Sonic Youth, Wire etc and I think they hold up just as well today. Does this make me behind the times? Do I need to move on? lol

I'm interested, but only if we become a Dire Straits cover band. And only if we only play Money For Nothing over and over for the duration of our set.
I can't play any musical instrument, but I do have a Dire Straits CD.

PM me if you are interested.
