When I did my MA in Applied Linguistics by distance at an Australian university, I received a tax break on my educational expenses here. All I had to do was attach my tuition slips and the credit card bill, which showed that I had paid the tuition, to the tax form and hand it in at my uni. I imagine it would be the same for other education related expenses.

OP :

Is your question in reference to paying income tax in Korea or your home country ?

Every country has its own income tax system with tax deductions that are specific to that country.

The answer is yes if you are doing a course here in Korea through a Korean institution. For me, I am doing my masters through a Korean university in Seoul and I can get a tax deduction for my tuition fees. But that is for a masters degree. I am not sure about other courses though.

Why wouldn't it be? It's an educational expense and educational expenses are deductible.

http://www.nts.go.kr/eng/korean/korean_03.asp?top_code=K001&sub_code=KS03&ssub_code=KSB3

The PDF "Outline of Individual Income Tax System"

page 28/44
"Education expenses for the taxpayer himself, including tuition fee for graduate school, may be deducted without a ceiling."

Do it.
