Am I right in thinking that the public school term ends at the end of June and thereafter it's just a few weeks of summer camp?

London Olympic tickets are available from the 14th of next month and I was planning on registering for interest in the hope of going home at the end of July and returning mid August.

With no one currently available at school to help me with my query, am I right to assume the above?

Anyone else considering a trip?

Am thinking this is the time to 'see' Wimbledon.

One of the frustrations, and there are many working in this country, is the issue of vacation time.

Generally speaking, school ends for the summer recess some time in late June/early July but you're expected to do camps. SOME teachers are aware of these dates early on while most of us are informed a few weeks beforehand making any long term plans difficult to make to say the least.

Unless you've got it in writing that your vacation is on such and such a date for X weeks, I wouldn't be booking any tickets, either plane tickets or Olympic Games tickets just yet.

Eh, most public schools I've worked at finish mid-late July. Depending on where you are you should be able to get most of August off.

I say go ahead and apply for the tickets! You can always cancel or ebay them. It's not if the Olympics comes to London every 4 years!

Don't worry about that, I will be purchasing my tickets for sure. Very Happy

Just wanted an idea of when I can expect to leave after the summer term is over.

Thanks.
