I guess my technical hs isnt typical. The students English is terrible, most don't listen or want to participate, but its not too bad. And there are some do care and really try to learn. I teach around 350-400 students and there's only a few that I really don't like.

My job was a little bit stressful till I figured out what my co teachers wanted me to do in class... make them memorize little dialogs, play games, and do activities involving videos. There's no serious learning going on in my classes. And a lot of students sleep or talk to each other or just don't pay attention.

I wanted to stay for a second year, and was asked by the head English teacher to stay, but a month later they told me they didn't get funding for a foreign teacher after my contract ends.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that not all technical high schools are bad jobs.
