I'm married to a Korean and have discovered some things that are now free. For example, the government will put up 800,000KRW/month for our kid's kindergarten. Nice. Also, there are toy rental clubs who give free memberships to families with a foreigner. Nice.
Anybody know of any other free goods and services I can get? I'm really looking for a government backed low interest rate mortgage. I know Koreans who earn less than 30,000,000/year can get them. I would like something similar. |

Didn't you post in another thread that you make around 6 million won per month?
Isn't this a reasonable enough salary that you shouldn't need to be taking government assistance?
And how would you qualify for the special loans on your salary? Unless 2/3 of your salary was paid under the table you'd never be under 30 million for the year. If this is the case, that would mean that you would be dodging taxes on the majority of your income and then turning around and accepting tax dollar funded programs meant for lower income families. |

The jeonsae loan scheme is only up to 80 million won. This will not get you an apartment in Seoul.
Where did you get the 800k kindergarten figure. The max I heard was 300k.
Also, what is the toy rental thing?? Any more details on that in particular would be greatly appreciated.

We have money of our own, but I will add to it anything I can get. NOT taking advantage of everything available at all times is not acceptable.
I'll check on the kidergarten money. I'm not 100% sure, that is the reason for the post.
I'll get the toy rental place name from my wife when I get home and post it. |

Fair enough....at least you've got an understanding of what you're doing. If this is the way that you choose to live your life then so be it.
Personally I prefer to pay my own way, and not milk money out of systems that are intended to assist poor people. But you're the one who has got to look at himself in the mirror every morning.
There is no such thing as "free" money.....the money belonged to someone at some point. Sure sounds like a greedy and immoral plan to me.
The lack of personal responsibility in our society today is incredible. |

Someone recently posted about free daycare for multi-cultural families.
I know also that you can go to your local health clinic and get most of the childhood vaccinations for free or reduced cost. I think this is available to everyone in Korea. |

The income cap doesn't apply to multicultural families. |

So... are you implying he pays less than that in taxes, meaning that he is taking someone else's money? Or are you saying he should be ashamed that he doesn't allow people to take money from his wallet and give it to others? |
