Hi Guys!
I want to do abit of snowboarding next week.. Can anybody give me which resorts are good to go to next week. I prefer a resort that is close to Seoul.
I google some resorts but I don't know how good the snow falls have been in those areas:
Yangji Pine Resort?
Star Hill Resort?
Hyundai Sungwoo Resort?
Has anyone been to these ski resorts recently? How are they in terms of the amount of snow?
Thanks guys! Your help is really appreciated |

Which ones have decent cabins you can rent right on or near the slopes? What are the prices for a weekend rental? |

Jisan is probably the closest, only about an hour or something and you can book a free shuttle bus.
With hire and day pass about 80,000W |

Jisan is right next to Yangji - both good for a novice to get out and have some fun. The free shuttle bus is great. Good if you want to do some early morning riding before work or late night after work. Not really the places to go if you want to find the best Korea has to offer. Jisan actually has a decent resort though and it can be a nice place to sit outside and eat your lunch...having a beer after though is a bit dull.
If you want a little bit more upscale and some runs that are a bit more challenging, Vivaldi near Chuncheon is pretty good. Some of the beginner runs are great, the resort is pretty nice and it has the steepest run in Korea which can be fun when there is some new snow. Kinda sucks if you are a better rider as you will have to weave through all the beginers every time you want to get to a lift.
Phoenix Park is a bit further down Express-way 50. About 2 hours. You can get shuttle bus/lift ticket deals from the internet for about 50,000. Resort kind of sucks, but it has a reasonable amount of runs of different levels, a park, some pretty fun steep runs good for carving. You can also avoid the crowds at the bottom by staying up on the 'advanced' runs at the top (as the lifts are split mid way up the mountain).
There aren't really any good resorts in Korea though, so don't head out expecting Nagano...sadly the Koreans didn't luck out like the Japanese. |

Thanks guys for all your replies!
How and where do I catch the free shuttle bus to Yangji?
If anybody has directions on how that would be great! |

Elysian is the new resort from LG. It is on the Seoul Metro subway line, Baekyang-ri station (on the line that begins in Yongsan and heads toward Chuncheon, through Gangpyeong and Gangchon). Pretty good slopes and not that crowded. I have been there the past three Sundays and have not waited in a single line for the lifts!! |
