| I lived there a few years ago. You might have to be a little more specific as there are a number of towns inside Namyangju city. As I remember, Guri is the closest city in Namyangju to Seoul. It is on the subway(jungang line - light blue), which is a big advantage. Guri is okay, it has a dept store, cinema, fairly large market, but i'm sure you would find yourself in seoul most weekends. It only takes about 20 minutes to get to Jamsil. |

Most of Namyangju is quite rural, although there's been quite alot of development (apartments, shopping areas, subway stations) within the last 10-15 years. There are older run down parts of Namyangju as well.
It's a huge area so you need to know where in Namyangju you will live in order to get a better understanding of what it's like. |

| My wife works out that direction and I took her to work today since it was her last day as she had quite a bit of stuff to bring home. It is very rural and a long ways out from even Guri City. We live in Dongdaemun-gu and it took an hour by car. My wife says it's a little over an hour by bus/subway to where we live. Figure another 30 minutes into Central Seoul, putting it at about an hour and a half. |
