Hi~!
Does anybody know anything about the ILS franchise? I can't find any information on it but would be great if someone here could tell me if it's a reputable school Particularly the Suwon branch.
Also, is it a good idea to go to Korea without a working visa then sort it out there? It sounds a bit dodgy to me ... Although worst comes to worst I have friends there if I'm stranded.
Would appreciate any advice! Thanks |

Dont come to korea without a visa. It is a requirement to do an interview at the korean embassy in your home country if you have have never worked in korea before. Sometimes they dont make you do it, but if you come to korea and they say you have to do it, you have to back to the place you just came from - at your own expense.
If your potential employer is asking you to come to korea without a visa - find a new employer. They are shady. Run. Dont look back. |

Thanks for the help! I'm a bit confused about the "home" country bit though - isn't that what the visa runs are for..?
EDIT:
Found this in the FAQs - http://forums.eslcafe.com/korea/viewtopic.php?t=2878
Sounds like what i'm asking but could it be outdated since it's from 2003... |

Orbis is right. Flying over pre-visa on a first job means trouble. |

Visa runs are for those who have already held visas. Since this is your first visa, you must have an interview at a consulate in your home country. If you want to get a second/third/fourth etc. visa you can just go to Japan to get it as you don't need an interview for these.
Do not come over here without a visa. You'll have to fly back to the US. |
